The following three assessments will be used to evaluate your skills in the areas of
keyboarding, dictation, and grammer and language usage.
Keyboarding & Typing. This assessment will determine your words-per-minute keying speed, based on a five-minute timing. If you finish the entire copy in exactly five minutes, you would have keyed 65 words per minute. You will be given an opportunity to practice your typing skills for approximately 10 minutes beforehand. Then you will be given three five minute timings.
Dictation and Language Usage. This assessment consists of reading text that is unformatted and which contains spelling and language usage errors. You will have 15 minutes to read the text and retype it using proper word choices, punctuation, spellings, and formatting.
Grammar Usage. This assessment consists of a multiple-choice format, and it tests word use, punctuation, hyphens, apostrophes, spellings, and general sentence
structure. You will have 15 minutes to complete this test.
